Update: Yahoo! Sports Fantasy Auto Racing

With Jimmie Johnson near the top of the qualifying charts so many times over the last few years, I decided to stick with him as my choice of A list driver for the Auto Club 500. I did pretty good for my second week of Yahoo! Sports Fantasy Auto Racing. Our group has grown from 11 to 13 people. I ranked 2nd for the week, and I’m currently 2nd for the season.

Comcast Increases My Internet Speed

Faster Downloads, Faster Uploads and not a penny more. Just when you thought the Internet couldn’t get any faster, Comcast has increased its internet speeds to 4MB. That means I’ve finally surpassed the 3MB barrier as you can see from the before and after photos. What does this mean to all of you who are reading this? Since my up is your down, this means pierson.homeip.net is now just a little bit faster.

Trillian Anywhere

I am a big Trillian fan. That’s why I found this LINK that my Dad sent me pretty neat.

Trillian is GREAT, but lacks portability. It would be ideal if Trillian had a web based service, like AIM Express or ICQ2Go, that I could access all my various instant messenger clients from any computer. I’ve use to use a plugin called I.M. Everywhere before that fulfils this wish. I.M. Everywhere lets you access your contact list, as well as send and receive instant messages, from any web browser or mobile phone. It works GREAT. That was until our IS people at work blocked the port that I used to connect to it through, now I have little need for it.

Trillian Anywhere, on the other hand is even one better. By follow the steps of the online wizard, I can install Trillian on zip disk, CD, USB flash drive, or any other type of portable media. Allowing me to take Trillian, my contact list, my preferences, and my plugins with me wherever I go. I’m no longer stuck with limited functionality of web based versions of instant messengers.

Although, this would be great to use at work, the ports that many Instant messenger clients are blocked as well. But still, the idea of a portable version of “My Trillian” is very cool.
