I’m proud to report that my team was victorious, for the fourth year in a row, at winning the corn maze at Keller’s Farmstand. We completed the maze in an astounding 57 minutes, well maybe not astounding, but we did come in first and had a fun time doing it. All thanks to my greatly impressive navigational skills. Better luck next time CHUMPS!
Last night we braved the cold and went to Silver Cross Field for a JackHammers Spooktacular World Series Party. Ok, so it’s not Minute Maid Park, but it was a pretty cool experience to watch Game Four of the World Series at the stadium. The outfield was opened up for anyone who wanted to come out and watch the game on the ballpark’s video board. I’d say about two hundred fans were in attendance, but as the night wore on, those numbers dropped significantly. By the end of the night there were, maybe, fifty people left. However, even with the small crowd the excitement level was still pretty high, as everyone counted down the last few outs. And then…
CHICAGO WHITE SOX - 2005- WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS
How cool is that!
Chicago sweeps Houston for first World Series championship since 1917!
The word is out. McDonald’s is running their hamburger/cheeseburger sale today. Burgers are $.49 and cheeseburgers are $.59, limit of five burgers. I had to wait and wait and wait in line to get mine. But nothing teast better than a cheap cheeseburger.
Beth and I saw Flightplan at Cinemark this past Tuesday evening. It wasn’t too bad, especially for an action flick. I thought Foster’s performance was a little too close to her supermom role in ‘Panic Room,’ but she’s a good actress and I quickly forgive her. I was worried at first that movie would become boring quickly, because almost all of the plot takes place inside of an airplane. But, I’ll give the producers credit; they took a chance and pulled it off. Without giving away too many plot points, all I can say is the plot does come together in the end. Even though, the plot seems to be on thin ice before it finally reveals itself. I do have a few nitpicks however. Granted, I have no degrees in engineering, but I find it hard to believe that any airliner would have huge cavernous spaces dedicated to avionics equipment. Overall, ‘Flight Plan’ is a good film with good performances. I’d give the movie a B.
On the cusp of what might be history in the making. I would like to take the time to extend my hand, once and for all, to all of those who wish to climb on board the bandwagon.

What a great episode! L.J.’s Mom and step-father getting bumped off… Finally, some action outside the prison worth watching. What a good twist showing L.J. taking the camera phone picture when we all thought he was about to make a 911 call. I also loved the whole D.B. Cooper part of the story and how Michael seems to have it all worked out. However, some how I’m still not convinced that Charles Westmoreland a.ka. “D.B. Cooper” was at Folsom at the time of the plane jacking. I could see that part of the story taking a turn at the season finale. But, the big news, of course, is we find out that the mystery woman we’ve been seeing all along, the one who’s been calling the shots, is actually the Vice President. Wow, I didn’t see that coming. Although now that we know… I have to say I’m a little disappointed that they revealed the mystery woman’s identity already. It takes away some of the intrigue.
Oh, quick side note, I ran across TV’s top 10 scariest characters over at MSNBC. I’m glad to see that someone else agrees with me about T-Bag. What an evil character he is.
This is such a great Album. I’ve listened to it over and over, while working, driving, or doing other things, and I have not grown tired of it. This album has rock, it has country, it has ballads. If you’re willing to not worry about whether Rodney Crowell is country or rock or folk, then you’ll be in for a great treat. It offers great rhythms and great instrumentals. Actually, most, if not all, of the songs have good instrumentalists. Some tracks of note that I really enjoyed would be Say You Love Me, The Obscenity Prayer, and The Outsiderthe. They’re all light-hearted, fun songs offering catchy tunes (the lyrics to The Obscenity Prayer are kinda of cool too.) However, they are many more songs such as Dancin’ Circles Round The Sun and Ignorance Is The Enemy that deserve metion. Crowell seems to be a musician and songwriter who’s at the very top of his game. Give this album a try!
