Prison Break: End of the Tunnel

AHHHHHHHHH! What do you mean to tell me we need to wait until March for a new episode of Prison Break? That’s too long! I knew they were going to end with a cliffhanger. I just knew it. Now we’re left with a bunch of inmates sitting in a supply closet with nowhere to run but back the way they came, Lincoln is in the infirmary, a guard is on his way to check the supply closet. I have a feeling some bad things are in store for the guard, but damn it, I have to wait until FRICKEN MARCH to find out! Oh, and of course the big news is reviled; Terrence Stedman is still alive, which I have to say I didn’t see coming.

I hope the network decides to show all of the old episodes between now and then, because if you haven’t been watching this show, you need to catch up now.

del.ico.us

Recently, I have been reading more and more about social bookmarking with del.icio.us. I’ve noticed del.ico.us for a while but never really got into it. Mainly because I didn’t find a need to use it, but now that I have seen it pop up more and more as a side blog on web sites, I thought it was worth a try. So, I started an account and I might even start a new side-blog.

Kicking Off The Holiday Season

We officially kicked off the holiday season this past weekend. We started by celebrating our Thanksgiving with an early morning commute downtown, so that Beth would have plenty of time to get where ever it was she needed to go for the State Street Thanksgiving Parade. For the second year in a row she volunteered to be in the parade. I even remembered to bring the camera this year so that I could get a photo of Beth marching in the parade. This year she carried a banner for cappuccinocatering.com, one of the parades partners, while Andy, Matthew and me watched from the VIP seats. I have to say the VIP seats make the parade very enjoyable. It’s pretty neat to sit upfront and watch all the performance that you would normally miss along the parade route. However, it sure was cold sitting on those metal bleachers. Next year I am going to suggest heat seats. After all, if they truly are VIP seats, they should be heated. Afterwards, we went house hoping. First, it was off to Beth’s mom’s house for dinner. Then after we were complete stuffed with turkey, we waddled our way to the car and head on over to my Grandma’s house for desert. All in all, my Thanksgiving was very enjoyable. Thanks to Missi for the VIP seats, and thanks to everyone for the free food.

I have much more to share, but I’ll have to share all our weekend festivities later. Right now, I should get back to work. In the meantime, click HERE to view and/or download more photos of the State Street Thanksgiving Parade at Flickr.

Brick Desktop Hard Drive

Check out this LINK I found via Gizmodo. LaCie is selling stackable hard drives shaped like giant legos. What would be even cooler would be if they had enclosures like this that could fit mini-itx boards.

Let’s Talk Turkey

To put everyone into the Thanksgiving mood, check THIS out. These are supposed real calls to the Butterball turkey hotline, as reported by Snopes.

‘Butterball turkey experts still talk about the Kentucky woman who called in 1993 to ask how to get her dog out of her turkey. It seems the woman’s Chihuahua had dived into the bird’s cavity and become trapped there. The woman tried pulling the pooch and shaking the bird, all to no avail. A Butterball economist finally suggested the woman carefully cut the opening in the turkey wider to release the captive canine.

The only thing I have to say is… If your dog is small enough to fit inside your turkey, perhaps you should get a larger dog. Oh, and by no means do I endorse stuffing your bird with a dog as some sort of new helpful cooking tip. And since we’re on the subject of Thanksgiving. I just wanted to remind everybody to watch the State Street Thanksgiving Parade tomorrow. If your lucky enough, you’ll be able to catch a glimpse of Andy, Beth, Matthew and me. Beth will be marching in the parade. The rest of us will be watching from the VIP seats.

RIP: Sam, The World’s Ugliest Dog

I’m actually suprised to feel a bit sad about Sam’s passing. I originally posted about him because of exactly how ugly Sam was, but I guess the creepy little guy grew on me.

The Amazing Race 8: Episode 9

Damn those Weavers. They were lagging behind and I was sure they were going to be eliminated. Finally, I’d be rid of them once and for all. But wait, what’s this… it’s a non-elimination. Damn!

Everyone Loves A Parade

Saturday, after work I drove downtown to meet Beth and Matthew at the Museum of Science and Industry. Beth and Missi had to attend parade school for the upcoming State Street Thanksgiving Parade there, so we decided to make a day of it. After speanding the afternoon exploring the exhibts, we took a trip over to Michigan Ave. to catch the Magnificent Mile Lights Festival. I usually try to avoid any “holiday” ceremonies before Thanksgiving day mark. But since we were all ready downtown, I made the most of it. After all, everyone loves a parade. This was my first time downtown to see the Lights Festival and I have to say the fireworks over the river were realy cool… hearing them echo off the buildings was neat.
