Very Long Wait

I found this LINK via Lifehaker. Apperantly, blogger Shawn Morton has posted a method for moving your ‘Very long wait’ Netflix DVDs to ‘Shipping’ status.

I decided that, if I only had new releases which had ‘Long wait’ or ‘Very long wait’ in my queue, Netflix would have to send me something. Otherwise, I would be paying for something that they couldn’t deliver on (i.e. I pay for 3 discs at a time, but you can only give me 1 disc right now).

I guess by shifting his queue in this way worked, and his ‘Very long wait’ for 40 Year Old Virgin changed to ‘Shipping’ within an hour. But who in the hell wants to deal with taking all of their DVDs out of their Netflix queue. Although, It does sound like an interesting idea. If anyone has any luck with this or similar strategies… Leave me a comment, or send an email.

SyncBack Freeware V3.2.9

The first rule of computers, if you don’t want to loss your data that is… backup, backup, backup. One day your hard-drive may crash. Hard drives fail. It’s a fact of computing life. It’s not a matter if, it’s a matter of when. So, when it does I hope you have a backup. And after a long seach and a good recomendation, this is what I use, SyncBack Freeware V3.2.9. SyncBack will backup and synchronize across local disks, network drives and FTP servers. It also will allow you to set up multiple profiles and schedules to accommodate all your data backup needs. It works great and, I highly recomend it. Side note: Make sure you get the free version of SyncBack. I haven’t tried the commercial version. Although I’m sure it’s great, the freeware does me just fine.

TurboTanks

TurboTanks is great fun, It reminds me of the Atari 2600 Game, Combat. Be warned, It’s very addicting. I’ve already have spent countless hours playing this game.

Tom and Jerry

On Friday, January 27 at 9 p.m., Cartoon Network will premiere a brand new Tom and Jerry short, titled ‘The Karateguard.’ In the short, directed by Joseph Barbera (I thought he was dead), Jerry, takes up martial arts to defend himself against his arch-nemesis, Tom… Well, it’s a Tom and Jerry cartoon for crying out loud, they pretty much all follow the same basic plot. Matthew relly likes watching Tom and Jerry, and since he’ll be asleep by the time it airs, I’ll have to make sure I TiVo it for him. Yeah, for Matthew… Thats it.

Jack Bauer Makes Onions Cry

I swear this will be my last 24/Jack Bauer post… This was just too funny to pass up, check out Random Jack Bauer Fact: Top Thirty Facts. My favorite…

Jack Bauer makes onions cry.

JackTracker

In case you can’t get enough 24, make sure to check out the JackTracker, a Google Maps mashup and interactive map that tracks Jack Bauer’s movements. You can zoom in and view of all sorts of landmarks from all five seasons of 24 including the location of CTU… Damn, no wonder why Jack was so easy to find.

24: 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM

And we have our mole… Spencser! I pretty much had him pegged since the first hour. I’m hoping that such predictability was a result of my careful study of the show, and not tiresome writing. But then again, I thought for sure that the First Lady was going to commit suicide. Instead she escaped through the window, so what do I know. But how is it that CTU keeps being infiltrated by moles? Think about it. For five years running, they’ve been infiltrated by one after another. Whoever is head of CTU security should be immediately fired. The writers are starting to over use the whole CTU mole storyline? I also have a stupid question… Whatever happened to President Keeler (Logan’s predecessor)? Are we to assume he died, or is he still in critical condition eighteen months after the attack on Air Force One?
