Where golf isn’t exactly my “thing” (unless it involves hitting the ball through a windmill or a clown’s mouth), I’m glad to see Matthew showing interest in the sport that Andy loves so much. For sometime now, Andy has been introducing Matthew to the sport of golf. He’s even gone as far as to cut down a few clubs just his size. In any case, a few days ago, Andy took Matthew to Wedgewood Golf Course where Beth was able to take this short video.
This is my second attempt at trying to embed a video into a post. In case this doesn’t work or if you happen to be reading this via RSS… click HERE. Otherwise, click HERE to view and/or download more photos at Flickr.
For the past two years I’ve written about my life, and just about anything that interests me. If you come to this site regularly, irregularly or even not at all but read through RSS, I want to sincerely thank you for stopping by and reading. To have ANYBODY read this blog makes me feel good, especially if you’re not a family member or don’t even know me.
I don’t get a lot of traffic here because of what I write. I’m not a popular guy; I just write about the things I do in my life along with a few pieces about things I like/dislike or just catch my eye. I don’t try for anything deep, anything philosophical, political or edgy. It’s just me. I don’t have a lot of friends out there who read this blog, and certainly not a lot of family members either. I’m OK with that. I guess if I write for an audience of one (me), I won’t be all that disappointed in my traffic or my lack of comments or even the frequency of what I write. So, if I’m just writing for me, hopefully I won’t disappoint myself by trying to keep writing almost every day. I feel the need to do that; I don’t know why. Perhaps it’s this feeling that maybe, just maybe, if people stop-by regularly and actually read this blog then I should keep it going for as long as I can. Maybe I can get one or two more readers that way.
I have great new for Matthew; I just learned that our favorite cat and mouse duo are making a return to TV. Come this fall, Matthew and I will be able to enjoy them Saturday mornings on “The Kids WB on CW” where Tom and Jerry return to basics, chasing each other in all-new series of cartoon shorts.
On that note, another one of our favorite cartoon characters will also be making a come back. Scooby-Doo in Shaggy and Scooby-Doo Get a Clue. In this new cartoon, Shaggy and Scooby live in the ‘bling’d-out mansion’ (The WB’s words, not mine) of Shaggy’s Uncle Albert. They still have the Mystery Machine, but it can now transform into one of a number of other transportation modes. There’s Scooby Snacks, but they are now infused with nano-technology that allows Scooby to fly or turn into a giant robot. Their mission is to keep the Scooby Snacks away from those who would use them for evil.
Since I started watching Scooby-Doo with Matthew, I’ve actually redeveloped an appreciation for the True Classic Scooby-Doo series, and it’s most recent incarnation, What’s New, Scooby-Doo. But this latest incarnation has me feeling less than hopeful. I for one am a firm believer in not messing with the classics. The classics just need to stay… you know… classic.
As far as finales go, I have to say that this one definitely made me happy. It left me wanting more while still giving a pretty good amount of closure. The ending…I loved it. Even though it’s not 100% clear, I ‘m sure the scotch drinking, Bluetooth headset wearing guys are behind Jack’s abduction. And I thought it was a nice return to last season’s story by bringing the Chinese back.
At the end the Chinese ambassador said Jack was too valuable to kill him. I wonder, will the Chinese sell Jack Bauer to the highest bidder or do they actually need him for something? I can’t wait until next year.
Trillian Dumped From Google Pack via Yahoo! News
My dad sent this link to me yesterday, which came as a little surprising since I was just musing the other day over Google Pack and some of the applications I use. I assume Google dropped Trillian because they plan to push Google Talk rather some third party software. It’s really sad to see Google parting from including Trillian in their pack. I have been a Trillian and Google user for a long time and I like them both.
After flying Matthew’s kite this past weekend, I know exactly what I want to do this summer. I’m going to try and build this kite camera and take some aerial photos. It should be a pretty fun experiment.
I haven’t been to the movies in months, at least not one gear towards kids, but there are a few summer blockbuster movies coming up that I have been looking forward. So, last weekend, Beth and I saw Mission: Impossible III. I wanted to share my review earlier, but it kept slipping my mind. I won’t ruin the movie by telling you what happens, but I will tell you whether it’s worth seeing. Was it as good as the first Mission: Impossible? Of course not, but was it better than Mission: Impossible II which had way too much John Woo (which means too many slow-mo and flocks of bird scenes) for my taste. “III” delivered precisely what it promised; mindless action, high-speed chases, desperate gun battles, computer-generated special effects, exotic locations (China, Italy), and bravado.
It’s not as smarter or compelling as The Bourne Identity or The Bourne Supremacy thrillers, but Mission: Impossible III is a solid enough action packed, popcorn movie. I give this movie a B.

‘DEADWOOD’ HEADS FOR BOOT HILL via New York Post Online Edition
It looks like the upcoming third season of Deadwood might be the last. Those &%$#@! at HBO have decided not to offer contracts to the cast of Deadwood for a fourth season. While publicly HBO says there’s hope yet, the chances that they could get all the actors back are slim to none.
My biggest fear now is that the third season will be the last, and it will leave the story unfinished.
