I only have one question; when the camp elders held the meeting at Gem, complete with peaches and cinnamon, to figure out how to deal with Hearst next. Why was Farnum and Tolliver invited? After all, Swearengen knows that Farnum, and Tolliver, are in the pay of Hearst, so why would you invite them to the meeting where you are going to discuss going up against Hearst?

Here’s a cool Flickr toy from flagrantdisregard.com’s extensive Flickr Toys section: the Flickr Profile Widget banner generator. It gives you a nice array of options to specify, which of your photos to show (most recent, most interesting, random recent, random interesting), and whether or not to show the photo count. That comes all together to generate a slick banner image.

This four port USB hub is great. I have to get me one.
I know I’ve been really light on posting these past few weeks and to make up for it, I’ve decided to post just the highlights to keep you all updated with what we’ve been up to. And since they say a picture is worth a thousand words… this will be a rather lengthy post.
- On Thursday the 6th, Beth and Matthew took a trip up to Michigan with her mom and sisters to visit her God-parents. Click HERE to view and/or download more photos.
- On Saturday the 8th, I joined Beth and Matthew after work at the DuPage Children’s Museum. Click HERE to view and/or download more photos.
- On Sunday the 9th, we caught a Jackhammer’s baseball game where Beth won ten free tickets in a raffle. After the game Matthew got a ball signed by almost all the players. Click HERE to view and/or download more photos.
- Saturday the 15th, I joined Beth and Matthew after work at the Museum of Science and Industry for a family day That Missi’s work was sponsoring. Click HERE to view and/or download more photos.
- Sunday the 16th, Beth had a Pampered Chef party.
- Tuesday, I felt so miserable that I called in sick to work.
- Thursday, we went to a Joliet Jackhammers game with the free tickets that Beth won.
- After feeling lousy for about a week… Saturday, I finally broke down and went to the doctor. Turns out I have a sinus infection. He gave me a few prescriptions and now I’m feeling much better. Also, Beth and I went to diner with some friends visiting from out of town (it was great to seeing you again Dave & Jamie.)
- Yesterday, we went to Brookfield Zoo (Photos to come soon as soon as I get a chance to upload them to Flickr.) Oh… By the way, ABC 7 News was at the zoo filming us participating in the wolf parade. I don’t when or if it will air, but if you watch the channel 7 news keep any eye out for us.
I’m sure there are a few gaps in between that I missed, but I believe that about sums it up.
Check out these amazing bike tricks.
I know it’s been almost week since I’ve posted anything. But between the long hours at work and feeling a bit under the weather I haven’t had the time or the inclination. In any case, while I was home sick Tuesday, I watched the last two episodes of Deadwood. So, here’s another attempt to include my thoughts in two back to back posts.
Aunt Lou’s long-lost son, Odell, arrives in Deadwood with news of a rich gold claim in Liberia, although his mother soon attempts to arrange his immediate departure. I found this interesting, as I mentioned before, this maybe the glimpse into how Aunt Lou plays into the downfall of Hearst. And even though Odell’s business in camp seems pretty straightforward, I’m more than certain this is a scam… hence why Aunt Lou doesn’t want her son involved with Hearst.
Also this episode, Bullock and Swearengen contemplate a preemptive strike against Hearst. Alma’s drug addiction loses her the bank services of Trixie and, possibly her husband Ellsworth. Her addiction also makes her vulnerable to Hearst, who’s learns of her condition by Tolliver.
Alma has definitely reverted to her bad habits. Two more actors are reunited with Langrishe in Deadwood; the troupe then prepares to work on transforming the Chez Ami into a theater. Steve and Hostetler finally work out the arrangements, by which the livery will change hands, only to end in Hostetler suicide which just plain didn’t make any sense. (At first I thought he was going to keel over from a heart attack; at least that would have at least made more sense.) Swearengen, still trying to decipher Hearst’s intentions finally gives Dan the OK to take Captain Turner up on his challenge. And when Dan seized the moment to poke his thumb into Captain Turner’s eye, causing the eye to pop out; I’ll admit I cringed. Then to top it all off, Bullock leads Hearst to jail be the ear.
What a great episode.
Sometimes wonder if I don’t post enough. It’s not that I feel that I have to blog. The problem is finding the time. I do, after all, have a wife, a kid, and job. Try as I may to ignore them all, they refuse to be ignored. So time is one barrier to the non-stop blogging. But perhaps the bigger problem is there’s not always something exciting to write about. If I were a celebrity or a pirate or international spy, there’d be no shortage of exciting adventures to retell for everyone’s amusement, but the truth be told, my life isn’t all that exciting. I go to the work, I come home, and I play with Matthew. Sometimes I try to talk myself out of physically harming my coworkers, but that’s about it. Nothing really newsworthy, as you can see. Consequently, some days I sit down to write a new blog post, only to find I have nothing. And it is for that reason, why I just wrote about nothing at all.
Since I’ve been following the upcoming Transformers the movie, I found this interesting. The Movie Blog was shut down by Paramount for enthusiastically hyping up their upcoming Transformers Movie. The post about the controversy is HERE.

This has litttle to do with anything but… McDonald’s has put up a pretty interesting billboard in Wrigleyville.
