Even though I don’t have as much use for portable software as I did before when I could bring my own personal USB drive to work [Gurrrr], I decided to have a look at some of the portable software out. I’ve tried simular projects before, like when I created a portable version of Trillian, but this time I thought I would take my 512MB USB drive and gave Portable Firefox a try. It was pretty easy to install, and so far it’s worked on every pc I’ve connected my USB drive into. I’ve even got half of my extensions working too. The one extension that I was most interested in seeing if it worked was Google Browser Sync. It worked and synced all my bookmarks and cookies with my main PC at home. Pretty cool, I wish I had more chance to use it.

Radioshack Lays Off Nearly 400 Employees Via E-Mail via FOXNews.com
FORT WORTH, Te — RadioShack Corp. followed through on its announced plans to cut about 400 jobs, but the electronics retailer has been forced on the defensive about its method of notifying laid-off employees by e-mail.
Looking back at the recent events at work, I’m glad the Angles of Death didn’t use this method.
Hey, check it out… There’s a photo of Beth and Matthew in the Joliet Park District’s Fall Leisure Guide. Click HERE to see the Early Childhood section, then scroll down to page 8. Although, this photo is a little out dated… It must have been taken when Matthew was enrolled in the Nature Babies class well over a year ago.
- Sunday, we spent a Day Out With Thomas at the Illinois Railway Museum.
- Saturday, we went to Sherri’s birthday party.
- Tuesday night, we went to U.S. Cellular looking to replace Beth’s phone. After leaving the store very annoyed and with no phone, I had to spend an hour on the phone trying to clear up a contract renewal dispute. At this point, I’m ready to cancel our contact and take me business else where. Then later that night we had to take Wyatt for an emergency visit to the vet for an allergic reaction he had to a vaccine shot earlier that day. Luckily, we found a vet in Plainfield that was willing to wait for us to come in at nine o’clock.
- Monday night, we went out to Buca Di Beppo in Orland Park to celebrate Sherri’s birthday.
It’s about Damn time; Mark Buehrle finally pitched a good game and the team actually looked good.
As promised, these photos are from our trip to the Chicago Botanic Garden where we went to see the Kite Festival. I didn’t really know what to expect other than I was probably going to see people flying kites, but after just a few minutes of watching The Chicago Fire Kite Team, it was definitely worth the trip. I was truly amazed at all the stunts they could make their kites do. Unfortunately these photos were taken with our old camera, since I accidentally left our usual camera at a friend’s house the day before. Quite a few of them are a bit blurry, but here are the best out of them.
Pluto gets the boot via CNN.com
PRAGUE, Czech Republic (AP) — Leading astronomers declared Thursday that Pluto is no longer a planet under historic new guidelines that downsize the solar system from nine planets to eight.
So long, Pluto… You’re not a planet any more.
OK. So, I was a day late watching the season premier of Prison Break because Sherri wouldn’t postpone her birthday dinner by an hour. How rude!
In any case, I love when the fall season starts up again! What makes it even better is having it start off with a show I’m a fan of. The first shocker in store, prison doctor, Sara, seems to be recovering and not dead as we were lead to believe at the end of last season. Oh, don’t get me wrong. I’m glad she’s still around. In fact, the message Michael left for Sara makes me look forward to the rest of this series. I want to see if he can pull his promise off.
Also, I really liked William Fichtner as the lead FBI agent, Alexander Mahone, on the manhunt. I think his character will add some depth to the show. He should make a good match for Michael. The show will be more interesting if Michael has someone who can match his wits. He thinks exactly, almost TOO much, like Michael. Although, I starting to think it’s almost a little too unbelievable that agent Mahone could figure out Michael’s tattoo so fast. For instance, It was unbelievable that Mahone would figured out that RIPE Chance Woods had something to do with a cemetery.
- Saturday and Sunday, we spent the weekend at Indiana Beach in Monticello, Indiana. Even with a slight mishap with our hotel reservations, everyone had a good time.
- Friday night, we went to a Kane County Cougars baseball game as part of a work outing. The weather was terrible and we suffered through two rain delays before calling it quits early.
- Thursday, I called off of work due to some sort of stomach bug.
- Wednesday evening, we went out to Red Lobster to celebrate Beth’s mom’s birthday.
- Tuesday, was a very nerve racking day. After watching many people receive notices that they would soon be out of a job. I received the good news that I was still employed.
- Monday night, Beth, Matthew and I visited Savit and Angela’s house for dinner.
