The Dog Ate it Manifesto: 87 Excuses for Not Doing Your Homework
This list is for the glorious slackers out there who need a dose of anti-motivation to deal with the guilt of not upholding responsibility.
I could have sure used this list in high school.
I just discovered the Wheel of Food via Lifehacker. I have to say; There was a time when this would have made me and my co-workers’ decision on where to go for lunch… so much easier.
IHOP is doing it again. To celebrate National Pancake Day they will be giving away a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes today.
A few nights ago, Beth and I went to the movies and saw, Night at the Museum. After reading some of the critics reviews about this movie, I didn’t have very high expectations. However, I must say I was surprisingly pleased. While the movie wasn’t uproaringly funny, it was quite clever and I did find myself laughing out loud more than once.
I personal didn’t find Ben Stiller hilarious, but he does provide a few decent laughs throughout the film. On the other hand, I thought the supporting cast - Owen Wilson, Robin Williams, Dick Van Dyke and Mickey Rooney were a great addition to the movie. The miniature people scenes were hilarious. And even though the script never goes into any great depth , I feel the movie is aware of the fact that it is just a feel-good junk movie. I could go on about the story, but let’s face it. There’s not a lot of explanation needed. Like I said, it is just a feel-good junk movie. Good for a few laughs. I’d give it a solid B.
Little says love like a tattooed fish via Detroit Free Press
Here’s a little post Valentine’s Day news…
Pet shops are cashing in on the latest Valentine’s Day craze — exotic fish tattooed with pink lips and “I (heart) U.”
Because nothing says “I love you” more than cruelty to animals.
One of my very few pet peeves with Flickr, is that there is no way of organizing contacts other than by permissions. They only allow a user to organize contacts by those that have either been marked “friends” or “family.” This can be somewhat limiting. It doesn’t accommodate my need to organize contacts by group, location or any other relationship than those who I’ve already marked as friends or family.
I might not have hundreds of contacts like some user of Flickr, but I do have a few. And unfortunately, I don’t have the time (or inclination) to look at all of them every day. What I wanted was a way to only look at a select few contacts, a group of contacts that I could quickly pick out from all the rest and choose check on them every week or two.
That’s why I was so happy when I stumbled upon a Flickr post about a Greasemonkey script, called Flickr Contact Organiser, which does exactly what I wanted. So far, I’ve been using it for about two weeks now and WOW! Does it ever make my life easier. Not only can I organize my contacts, but there is a vast array of viewing options. Allowing me to scan what’s new, their recent favorites, their most interesting… The list goes on. It’s proving to be a very useful tool.
I was so impressed when a co-worker showed me a CUP-A-CAKE today, that I had to look it up. Hey Beth, I think we could use one of these.
CUP-A-CAKE was designed and patented by mothers to solve the age old problem of sending cupcakes to school or outings with their children. Before CUP-A-CAKE, taking cupcakes anywhere caused a mess.
This unique container will hold a frosted cupcake in place with protrusions positioned in such a way that the cupcake will not move within the container if bounced, jiggled, or turned upside down.
The container will even protect the cupcake if it gets flipped upside down! Why couldn’t I have thought of this.
I was reading a few blogs and their coverage of the Toy Fair ‘07 when something on Heidi MacDonald’s The Beat caught my eye. And since it’s been a while since I’ve made any LEGO related posts, I just had to share - The Ultimate Millennium Falcon from LEGO.
This is it - the biggest, most spectacular LEGO® Star Wars model ever! Straight out of the classic Star Wars movies comes the Ultimate Collector’s Millennium Falcon, Han Solo’s famous smuggling starship. Every detail of the modified Corellian Engineering Corporation YT-1300 freighter is here, all constructed to scale with LEGO minifigures. At almost 3 feet (90cm) long, it’s the ultimate centerpiece to any Star Wars collection!
This new collectors piece is officially the largest LEGO model ever designed. The Millennium Falcon has over 5,000 pieces and costs $500. So, make sure to order one today. It ships in October, that should be more than enough time to surprise me by Christmas.
