2007-04-28 T-ball (Matthew's 1st T-ball Game) 001Even though he’s wearing a Cubs uniform… Beth and I still love him. More photos to come…

Touch a Truck

2007-04-27 Touch a Truck 011

Here’s a few photos of Matthew and his friend, Joe, from Touch a Truck. Which ties in nicely with my previous “A Year Ago Today” post if I must say. Also, of course what Joliet sponsered event would be complete without an obligatory photo of Jammer. Click HERE to view and/or download more photos at Flickr.

A Year Ago Today

Big Dog

Looking back, a year ago today. Take a step back in time: April, 29th 2006.

Better Than a Remote Controll

THIS site is friggin’ awesome. Jerry, a friend of mine at work, recently introduced me to TV Links, and I was immediately floored by the amount of TV shows, cartoons and movies listed there. And unlike torrent sites, you can view them all directly for your streaming pleasure. Check it out.

Refrederator

As someone who loves the classics, and by classics I mean… Classic Cartoons. I have to say Refrederator is an excellent source to check. They have video podcasts that feature a ton of old cartoons from Warner Bros. and other studios that you can download.

Calvin and Hobbes

I just had to link to this great collection of “Calvin and Hobbes” strips I found over at MSNBC today. Damn, I miss seeing new Calvin and Hobbes comics.

Video Arcades

I was reading Wil Wheaton’s blog today, when I came across a post that discussed the decline of video arcades. Growing up in a bowling alley, I can remember the game room really well, dropping a quarter in the slot of many of my favorite games. But there were other arcades that I remember fondly. For instance, Celebration Station, Showbiz Pizza which later became Chuck E. Cheese’s (which I guess could be considered a video arcade that sold pizza too) and Bally’s Aladdin’s Castle all come to mind.

I’m sure anyone around my age might share the same sentiment for video arcades. As a child it was always a great thrill to be able to spend some time at the arcade in Mall. I spent hours and hours inside of Aladdin’s Castle. I had at least one of my birthday parties there and attended at quite a few too.

Nowadays, arcades seem to be a lost cause. Not that I go to the mall all that often, but there’s a rather pathetic arcade in the mall that I still check out ever great once in awhile. But in no way dose it compare to the arcades of my past.

What ever happened to the classic video arcade?

Scenes from Donkey Kong

I love this: Some students at USC recreated scenes from Donkey Kong in the windows of their building using Post-It Notes. Very creative.

Blogs of Fancy

Most blogs seem to be about a particular subject: politics, technology, conspiracy theories, whatever. The most popular blogs seems to follow this trend. But most of my favorite blogs, at least as of late, don’t have a particular theme, they just take my fancy. Blogs that reflect the current obsessions or ramblings of their authors and nothing more. Maybe, it’s because this blog tend to follow in a similar direction. I guess if my blog happens to be interesting to a few people then great, but is it possible for a blog of self interests and musing to ever get really popular? I don’t know...

Maybe… After all, I find myself coming back to blogs that cover everything from movie reviews to technology to everyday life. I guess if you craft an eye catching or informative blog it doesn’t matter at all what the subject matter is or how many different subjects that are touched upon. Content is king after all. Am I alone, or are some of you drawn to blogs of fancy too?
