Unfortunately, the circle of life for most of these babies was a very tiny one. Wyatt was a little too curious, and as you probably could guess, a few of them didn’t make it. We did our best to protect the remaining baby rabbits, keeping a watchful eye on Wyatt, who keep a watchful eye on the rabbits. In any case, the baby rabbits are all gone now. I don’t know if they moved on, or what. I think I read once, that when their eyes open up they will move out and look for food on their own. Hopefully, that was the case - on the bright side, I don’t have to run over to the nest every time Wyatt goes out.
I’ve decided to do something I’ve haven’t done in a while and post just the highlights from the last couple of weeks or so to keep everyone up to date. While these might not be listed in any particular order, they’ll give a glimpse in what’s been go on.
This past Saturday we went to Wesmerefest, where I was sadly disappointed that this year’s line-up of food vendors didn’t include Baby Back Blues. Also, that evening, Matthew started to come down with a case of Hand, Foot, and Mouth disease that he more than likely picked up from a friend’s sibling. I thought Hand, Foot, and Mouth disease was only something cattle got, but according to the CDC, I’m confusing HFMD with foot-and-mouth disease. In any case, he’s already on the mend and feeling much better.
Last week, I traveled to St. Louis on business. The trip was rather mundane except we did mange to score some free tickets to a St. Louis Cardinals vs Kansas City Royals baseball game. Click HERE to see a few photos from my trip to St. Louis.
The week before that we took a trip to Kiddieland Amusement Park. Of course, Matthew had a great time. Click HERE to view and/or download more photos at Flickr.

Looking back, a year ago today. Take a step back in time: June, 25th 2006.
Blog posting will more than likely be non-existent for all of next week, as I have to take a trip down to St. Louis for work. Not that I’ve posted much of anything lately, but at least now I have a valid excuses.
Thankfully though, I have other means of expression on this blog and if I get the opportunity, I’ll upload some photos to my flickr photostream. Then again, I’m not sure how much sightseeing I’ll get done.
Does anyone have a Costco membership? How about helping a guy out?

Well, I finally made it out to see Spider-Man 3. What can I say about it? It’s good. It’s a comic book movie. Sure, it has its flaws - most notably the totally bizarre jazz club sequence. But, I don’t understand those critques who try to make this movie into something more than it is: another movie about Spider-Man.
I’ll agree with some of critics that there is way too much stuff packed into this one story. The plot has little room to spare between the several superheroes/villains and the whole Peter-Mary Jane saga. Crowded plot aside, the coolest parts of the movie are, unsurprisingly, the visual effects and the action sequences. The Sandman is particularly awe-inspiring to see on the big screen and the final scenes with all four superheroes are definitely cool.
The movie is what it is: Expect a lot more and you will be disappointed. But as a Spider-Man movie, it does its job. I’d give it a B+.
Drop everything! New study puts 5-second food-on-floor rule on ice via Chicago Tribune
Wow, I just found another source that reaffirms my parenting style.
A college professor and her students have challenged the prevailing wisdom of the so-called 5-second rule, which for generations has governed how long little morsels can remain on floors uncontaminated.
The window, the Connecticut team has concluded, is really 30 seconds.
Of course, results may vary. But now, with up to a 1 minute safety zone for some foods, I won’t look so bad when I tell Matthew it’s OK to eat something off the floor.
I have to admit, despite it’s enormous popularity, I have a slight dislike for Myspace.com. It’s not like I visit many Myspace pages, but most Myspace pages are gaudy, ugly things… the flashing banners, the layouts, the chaos on every page… all competing for my attention… It makes my eyes hurt.
What do you think of Myspace.com?
My brother turns 21 years old today… Wow, all of a sudden I fell a lot older.
Happy Birthday Andy.
To those people who are actually a little curious about my lack of postings, I don’t think I can come up with an excuse. I just became a bit busy with this and that, a bit burned out, and well… I guess it was just time for a break.
I hope that all two of you that actually read this blog weren’t disappointed by my absence. I just haven’t felt like dragging myself to the computer and writing lately.
And to rest assure anyone’s worry… I am OK, Beth is OK, and Matthew is OK. I have several things to share that I don’t think I have blogged about before. For instance, Beth’s gallbladder surgery and following complications or, Matthew’s recent modeling career. In fact, there’s a whole list of some other more mundane happenings, but I doubt that I’ll ever get around to composing entire posts about them. So, I’ll try to keep everyone up to date as life progresses. Until then…
