I discovered VIDEOSTORED the other day. It’s a site that hosts 480 full-length feature films. Similar to what TV Links does, visitors watch movies from within a browser embedded streaming video. You can choose and watch videos from a huge selection of movies. And no, these aren’t just strait-to-DVD movies, there are new and old movies - In fact, I just finished watching The Day the Earth Stood Still. Also, a neat little trick that I’ve never seen used before online was that while watching the movie, the screen will dim so you can focus on the movie. Pretty neat.
Anyways, check it out while you still can, they’ll probably be brought down by legal action any hour now.
Don’t know what Pownce is? Well, Pownce is a new way to send messages, files, events, pictures, and links to your friends. I just tried it out and I must say that it’s very slick. However, I’m not sure why I would use it. I already have a del.icio.us account, a Facebook account, a Flickr account, IM and email , so I don’t understand what gap this is filling. Maybe i’m getting old or maybe i’m just stupid.
But, It’s too early for me to dismiss Pownce altogether. I can see the promise. So, if your interested in joining Pownce… I’ve got five invites left, if you need them. Leave me a comment or send me email if you want one.
Ever get an email from a friend, that you haven’t seen in a very, very, very long time, that’s so long you almost wish they never wrote it in the first place because now you have to reply with a lengthy email of your own?
Oscar the cat predicts patients’ deaths via Yahoo! News
PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Oscar the cat seems to have an uncanny knack for predicting when nursing home patients are going to die, by curling up next to them during their final hours. His accuracy, observed in 25 cases, has led the staff to call family members once he has chosen someone. It usually means they have less than four hours to live.
This will make me think twice the next time Echo comes and curls up on my lap.
I came across an interesting site the other day, when John from work sent me a link for the SpeedTrap Exchange. The SpeedTrap Exchange has some handy little tidbits of information about known speed traps. While, I cannot attest to the validity of all the local listings around me, I’d have to say a few of them look pretty accurate.
In fact, the first person I thought might find this useful in Andy. So, Andy if your reading this… you might want to check it out.
Breaking News: All Online Data Lost After Internet Crash via The Onion
The Onion gives us this creepy yet hilariously realistic news report of the Web Crash of 2007. The idea of Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and Craig from craiglist in one room meeting to save the Internet is pretty entertaining. Thanks John for sending this link my way.
Breaking News: All Online Data Lost After Internet Crash
Yeah, Google’s overhauled the dashboard in their web site stats program, Analytics. I’m not sure excately when they gave it the fresh new look. I guess, it’s been awhile since I checked it, but the new look is so much easier on the eyes and the brain.
In fact, it feels less like you have to be a profesional statistician to understand what the hell is going on.
Lately, I’ve been reminiscing about the original Transformers back in there heyday. Of course, I am talking about the 1980’s, when Transformers cartoons ruled.
They were very cool back in the day. I can remember plopping myself down in front of the television and watching them somewhere in between G.I. Joe and Thundercats. Anyways, apparently, some people over at YouTube remember them just as fondly and have post plenty of videos from that era for everyone to enjoy. For instance, I have found several openings from the show in it’s various incarnations. I also found the entire first episode… Cool.

200 trapped in Gateway Arch for 2 hours via Yahoo! News
