Neumann Homes has been a staple in Plainfield for as long as I have lived here, and longer. That’s why, I was surprised to hear the news that they had made the decision to file for bankruptcy last week. I guess the loss of such a large home builder like Neumann homes is just a sign of the times. But, I wonder how this will affect the surrounding area? Neumann has at least three active subdivisions nearby that I know of.

I’ve pretty much seen every single comic strip of Calvin and Hobbes there is. That’s why it was pretty refreshing when I came across a whole catalog of pre Calvin and Hobbes art by Bill Watterson. Not that I ever get tired of reading Calvin and Hobbes comics.
Rare Bill Watterson Art, tries to catalog all of those strips, many of which come from Watterson’s college days at Ohio’s Kenyon College.
While a student at Ohio’s Kenyon College, Bill drew cartoons for the school newspaper The Kenyon Collegian and for the yearbook. Thanks to the generosity of Nat D., a schoolmate of Bill, here are scans of Bill’s work from that era.
It’s very funny to see Bill Watterson draw himself in some of these strips. It was also enjoyable to get a glimpse into the development of an artist. If you have ever enjoyed a Calvin and Hobbes comic strip then check it out! There’s some really good stuff.
Halloween is almost here, I think it’s about time we all learn how to survive a zombie attack.
