The Ebb and Flow of Movies: Box Office Receipts 1986 - 2007
The New York Times takes the box office receipts for all major films released from 1986 - 2007 and created a interactive graph detailing each films theater revenue over time from when they were released. I don’t know why they did it, but I like it.
Maybe it has something to do with me growing another year older, or maybe it has something to do with Matthew about to grow another year older. Either way, I started a list with just a few reasons why I still considered myself a big kid at heart.
- I get excited over good ice cream.
- I own shirts with comic book characters on them.
- While at Target or Wal-Mart, I can’t help but check out the toy aisle while walking by. Not the ones with the Barbies, mind you, but the ones with the LEGOs and Transformers.
- I own many LEGOs and I still continue to ask for them at Christmas just like I did when I was 5 years old.
- Candy is still an important part of my diet.
- I draw cartoons just like I did when I was little.
- I still read comic strips.
I might add to this list from time to time… I’m open to suggestions, if any of you think some. After all, many of you know me better than I know myself.

Thanks to The Fail Blog I now have something to waste my time on: laughing at the failure of others. It’s a bittersweet laughter though.

Total Lunar Eclipse: February 20, 2008 via NASA
A total eclipse of the Moon occurs during the night of Wednesday, February 20/21, 2008. The entire event is visible from South America and most of North America (on Feb. 20) as well as Western Europe, Africa, and western Asia (on Feb. 21). During a total lunar eclipse, the Moon’s disk can take on a dramatically colorful appearance from bright orange to blood red to dark brown and (rarely) very dark gray.
I might just be able to stay awake long enough to watch the total eclipse begin.
