There are a few things I’d like to learn how to do. Mostly this is because I just like learning new things. I don’t necessarily need to put them into practice, but I’d like to add them to my life’s resume of “stuff I learned.” They’re not incredible complicated, they aren’t life-altering or planet-saving, they’re just things I’d like to learn.
That’s why I’ve recently started filing away all the useless useful information I’ve found in Max Brooks’ book The Zombie Survival Guide. The Zombie Survival Guide is a tongue-in-cheek tutorial for surviving the living dead, that I received as a Christmas gift. While I might not every be able to put any of this knowledge to practical use it might come in handy to be armed with such facts as…
Zombies appear to be incapable of running. The fastest have been observed to move at a rate of barely one step per 1.5 seconds.
Just in case I every find myself in a Dawn of the Dead type scenario. Thanks Laura for the fun read.

OK, this is arguably not all that useful, but it is fun, especially since I’ve already admitted to being a stats lover. In any case, to help my stay clued in to how I spend my time online, FriendFeed offers a stats feature that shows you the percentage of content that you create across several services.
I’ve been using it for a couple of months now, and I have to say it’s a pretty cool webapp. Between blogs, Del.icio.us, Digg, Facebook, Flickr, Twitter, etc., etc., etc. it can be difficult keeping track of all of your online activity - as well as the activity of your friends. While I don’t have many friends that use FriendFeed, I have set up a few imaginary friends. I know that probably makes me sound like an incredibly lonely person, but with imaginary friends, I can easily keep track of people without having to check 10 different sites. However, between the two somewhat distinct features - personal feed aggregation and friend-following, FriendFeed is excellent for creating an aggregated personal feed of all your online activity. I’m happy to use the site, if only for that.
Thank god, they’re finally going to pull those Harry Caray AT&T commercial off the air. They were starting to become very annoying.

I use to work with someone like this.
Discovered Orb on Nintendo Wii – a fun and simple way to bring all of the digital entertainment from the home PC directly to the living room TV screen.

The winner of the Sun-Times’ video contest about Wrigley Field naming rights is… a Chicago Tribune intern. Now that’s ironic.
Damn, CBS has canceled Jericho… again! Too bad, it was a good show.
I want some Bloxes.
Bloxes are building blocks made of interlocking pieces of corrugated cardboard, folded together. Their unique shape and structure make them exceptionally strong and lightweight
Well Baxter did it! Baxter has now accomplished in two weeks what Wyatt hasn’t been able to do in seven years. He caught a rabbit! Imagine my surprise as I go to let him in and there he was with his trophy.
Hopefully it was the little bugger that’s been living under our deck.
